In our days postcards have given their place to Instagram. And it's no longer necessary for us to visit a place to have the ability to look back at photos in our effort to escape for a while from everyday life. All we need is an Instagram account.
My trip to
Kastoria was a last minute decision. I do not know if it is happening to you,
but somewhere in the end of August, I'm a bit tired of summer photos, I don't
want to spend me weekend on the beach again, I miss my fluffy sweaters... As
the weekend was really close and I was in need of an excursion, the city of
Kastoria was the first destination that came to my mind (read more about my trip to Kastoria here).
It's only a few days that we returned from the
city of Kastoria and as I look at the photos, I wonder why I haven't visited
this city until today.. And is not that I hadn't thought about or that I
didn't have a chance, but knowing only little about this city (actually these
two - that is surrounded by a beautiful lake and its residents deal mostly with
fur), there was always a destination that fascinated me most and I was always
postponed this trip for another time ..
There are
some places that you fall in love with at first sight. This exactly happened
between me and Genoa and I had already figured it out when I got out of the
train station. Or rather, to be precise, I realized it a few minutes later when
instead of taking the first bus or taxi passing by (as I usually do after the
fatigue of the trip) I started walking to the destination of my Airbnb home. It
was this fantastic charm of another era, the streets full of people and these
tiny shops with the smell of fresh baked focaccia that made me forget about any
fatigue and want to live every single moment.
For many
Paris, is synonymous with honeymoon, the Eiffel Tower, Disneyland and expensive
boutiques. On the other hand, when I think of Paris, I feel my stomach churning
as I think of fluffy buttery croissants, hot thick chocolate, juicy veal steaks
and so much more ...
There are
many places in Europe that are ideal for spending a perfect weekend and
Budapest is definitely one of them. Budapest is the city with the historic
cafes, the yellow trams, the cobbled narrow streets that boast freshly baked
strudel and the oldest metro in Europe.
