There are
very few places in Greece that combine both mountain and sea ideally like
Pelion. If you've already been in an autumn mood and looking for a place for
your first autumn or winter escape, or even if the summer is not yet over for
you, the village of Tsagarada in Pelion, is the perfect destination for your
next trip. Having just returned from a beautiful three-day trip to Tsagarada
(see more about my trip to Tsagarada here!), it' s time to suggest the ideal
hotel that will make your holidays even more beautiful.
Location
AglaidaHotel & Apartments is located on the eastern side of Mount Pelion, in the
district of Agia Kyriaki in Tsagarada. In a superb location, surrounded by
dense green forests and with a magical view of the Aegean Sea. The location of
the hotel is ideal if you want to explore the surrounding area as it is located
5 kilometers away from Agia Paraskevi, which is the center of Tsagarada, 4
kilometers away from the famous beach of Mylopotamos and only 3 kilometers away
from the exotic beach of Fakistra.
First
impressions
Arriving at
the hotel, you are fascinated by the beautiful Pelion architecture and the
peaceful environment. All-white residential complexes, with stone-built roofs,
built amphitheatrically on 3 levels surrounded by the forest, looking at the
deep blue of the Aegean sea.
The rooms
As long as
we stayed at Aglaida Hotel & Apartments, we did not feel like we were
staying in a hotel. Ok.. maybe only when we had our afternoon coffee by the
pool.
The hotel
consists of one-room, two-room apartments and suites. All have a kitchen, a
fireplace (one more reason to come back during the winter!), and balconies or
terraces overlooking the sea or the courtyard. We stayed in a two-room
apartment, with large and comfortable spaces, traditional décor and a very
comfortable bed.
The
breakfast
Breakfast
is served in the restaurant area, by the pool, in a very welcoming and warm
place, with wood as the main element of the decoration. Although there weren't
a lot of variety, the breakfast was homemade based on products from the region,
such as eggs, jams and pies.
Swimming Pool

Everyone
likes the hotels with a swimming pool, but Aglaida, besides a large swimming
pool, also has a children's pool, plenty of loungers and a pool bar so you can
enjoy your coffee or drink by the pool all day long. And as much as I enjoyed
all this, what I liked the most was the view. The view from the pool area is
simply magical, with the endless blue of the Aegean sea which is stretching in
front of your feet, while if you turn your eyes to the mountain you will see
the beautiful green forest.
